Rosemary Viggiani

Having spent my early years as a hydrologist I then moved to British Gas and established a career in
operational research before moving into line management roles.  During this time I was introduced to the principles of organisational excellence, becoming an assessor for national and regional quality awards.

My passion for excellence was awakened when I assessed Pen y Dre High School in Merthyr Tydfil in 1995.

You can read about my experiences here.

In 1999 I co-founded London Excellence, a not-for-profit company dedicated to raising the performance of organisations through the development of peer-assessment techniques;  we developed a wide range of surveys, organisational assessments and strategic management training, gaining experience with organisations across all sectors including education, housing, criminal justice and construction to name but a few.   We launched the LondonExcellence Awards in 2004 using a rigorous peer-assessment approach.  Over the years I trained more than 200 assessors from a wide variety of organisations.

I have now moved on but, with more than 20 years experience working with so many organisations across all sectors, I have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of people - from senior leaders to front-line staff. Click here to see the breadth of my experience.

The great thing about this experience and the network I have developed is that, if I cannot help you directly, I am confident that I can point you in the direction of "a man who can" - to coin the phrase of an old tv advert!

Alongside my work with London Excellence, my passion for education also led me into roles as chair of governors for a local nursery school and a governor for a high school where I oversaw its conversion to an academy and the implementation of new financial systems.   I have also worked as company secretary and clerk to governors,  clerking board meetings, appeal panels, complaints panels, student disciplinary panels and  independent review panels for more than 20 different schools and Academy Trusts in both the public and private sector giving me a wide and varied perspective on the world of education.   Experiences and skills that translate into other activities and sectors. â€‹

In my own time I enjoy singing with the Chandos Choir, swimming, walking, embroidery and reading.

Please do feel free to contact me if you want to talk anything through;  I am always happy to listen and, if I can't help you directly, I will try to point you in the direction of someone who might be able to.
